What is the Veteran’s Assistance Fund?

The Veteran Assistance Fund helps struggling Veterans with every day needs. Veterans have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country and when they return from active duty have many needs and complex issues. Most programs that are available to Veterans don’t address some of the every day needs that the Veteran has. This fund covers things like past due mortgage payments, truck rental if they have to move, utility bills, clothing for job interviews, past due rent payments, gas and food and anything else that may seem trivial to most people but could be an emergency to a Veteran.

Who does this fund help?

  • This fund helps the Veteran with cancer that is behind on his mortgage payment because he had to buy cancer medicine.
  • This fund helps the Veteran that lost his job because he did not call in due to PTSD and now is behind on his rent.
  • This fund helps pay for a car repair when the Veteran does not have any money to do so.
  • This fund helps a Veteran buy clothes for a Job interview.
  • This fund helps to pay a utility bill for a Veteran
  • This fund helps pay for gas for a Veteran.
  • This fund pays for financial capabilities counseling/coaching to help a Veteran get back on his feet again.

The Veteran Assistance changes a Veterans life, giving them hope again that someone actually cares. Most programs that are available to Veterans don’t address some of the every day needs that the Veteran has. This fund covers things like past due mortgage payments, truck rental if they have to move, utility bills, clothing for job interviews, past due rent payments, gas and food.

Why is this fund important?

Veterans are unique, they spend many years defending their country but they went through part of their lives having one specific job, wearing a uniform, being told what to do, eating, sleeping functioning as part of a unit. Once they are discharged everything they learned in the military is now different when they get back home. Something as simple as a job interview or finding a place to live, or deal with a bill collector can be scary. Just knowing what to say in a job interview, dressing the part, re-acclimating back into society is sometimes more than the Veteran can handle, that is why so many Veterans end up homeless. This is not a hand out it is a hand up.

So prepare to have fun and share the fun with your friends and acquaintances alike.
